Arizona woman charged with negligent homicide

Ashly Duchene, 22, of Phoenix, AZ left her 17-month-old child in her sweltering car while she went in to perform her duties as a waitress for the local Hooters for a 7-hour shift.

Clearly, this is going to leave a little mark on the Hooters girls in general, but the super-crappy thing about it all is that apparently she has suggested to others that she was burdened by her child. Apparently, the child's father has been seeking custody.

I just don't understand how much of an idiot you have to be to leave your child in the car. And it's not like parenting was a new thing to her, this was a 17-month-old baby. I gotta say that this woman seriously needs her head examined.
